The daughter of a US serviceman and a Filipina, Maureen Mauricio was born on July 23, 1971. With her mixed heritage, she had fair skin, a gorgeous face, and a voluptuous figure. A modeling search in Olongapo fueled her dream to become a so-called Regal Baby, the name given to young stars of Regal films. Tall for her age, the mestiza beauty traveled to Manila on her own when she was just twelve years old. In her audition, the producer told her to undress, which set the stage for the bold star she would soon become. Her acting career was launched when she was just thirteen years old in the 1984 movie Nalalasap Ang Hapdi. The following year she had a role in the bold movie Climax in which she acted alongside bold icons Anna Marie Gutierrez and Barbra Benitez. Most recently she acted in the TV series Maalaala Mo Kaya (2022) and the films Biyak (2022) and Triggered (2023). She now has over sixty film and television credits.
In a 2025 interview on Julius Babao’s Uplugged YouTube channel, Maureen revealed that she had a tumor removed. She said that surviving cancer had given her a new appreciation of life. She reported that she was married, happy, and focused on holistic health through therapeutic oils. Her three daughters now live in the United States. Maureen was one of, if not the, most beautiful starlets of the Bold era, and her looks have not faded with age. She remains a stunning woman.
